Referral to Bristol Laparoscopic Associates
New Patients
We are happy to see any new patients with urological or colorectal disease, symptomatic gallstones or groin hernias. Whilst a GPs referral letter is preferable it is not always necessary.
Second opinions
It is important that you are confident that you are receiving the correct treatment. If you or someone you know is faced with any of these operations and you want to consider a laparoscopic option, please use our resources to find an experienced surgeon. Do not hesitate to ask your GP or gastroenterologist to refer you to an experienced and fully trained laparoscopic surgeon.
If you have seen a NHS consultant, you can have a second opinion from a Bristol Laparoscopic Associate. You will need a letter from your GP.
NHS consultations are carried out at
Frenchay Hospital: Wednesday PM (Colorectal/hernia). Cossham Memorial Hospital: Mongay PM (Colorectal/hernia/gallbladder)
Bristol Royal Infirmary: Monday AM, Tuesday & Wednesday PM (Urology/hernia).
