Tyco Anglo-American Laparoscopic Fellowship
A one year fellowship with Dr Tonia Young-Fadok at the Mayo Clinic, Arizona http://mayoresearch.mayo.edu/mayo/research/staff/young-fadok_tm.cfm - commences July 2006. The fellowship offers state of the art equipment in addition to a dedicated laparoscopic training facility. The aim of Tyco and the ACPGBI is to promote excellence in minimally invasive colorectal work in the UK.
Applicants should hold or expect to obtain the American exams (including USMLE step III) and should be at or near the end of their specialist colorectal training and having completed the fellowship return to a substantive consultant support. It is then hoped that they would then be in a position to assist in the future development of laparoscopic services in the UK.
