Educational Grant from Covidien for Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery Bursaries

The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland has been awarded a £25,000 educational grant by Covidien to provide travelling bursaries to obtain experience of laparoscopic colorectal surgery. This bursary is intended to give successful applicants the opportunity to visit a centre of excellence for laparoscopic colorectal surgery. These bursaries will be available to consultants and colorectal surgeons in training. Applicants must be Ordinary or Associate members of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland. They must be residents of Great Britain or Ireland. Each bursary will be worth up to £2,000.The experience can be obtained throughout the UK and Europe.

A full Curriculum Vitae should be submitted giving details of all past and present appointments and publications, together with a detailed account of the proposed programme of travel, costs involved and objectives to be achieved during the Fellowship.
 
Closing Date for applications: Friday, 6 February 2009

Short-listed candidates may be invited to attend for interview by the Association’s Committee. The Committee will pay particular attention to originality, scope and feasibility of the proposed itinerary.

After the Fellowship, the successful candidate will be required to provide a written report of their Fellowship for inclusion in the Association’s Newsletter.
